Biography
Laura Musgrave is an acoustic singer-songwriter, based in
Leicestershire (UK). Her
performances have won her mentions
in Q magazine, NME, BBC6 and XFM.
She released her first CD "Beneath My Skin", aged 16, and went on to
perform around her native Leicester (UK) and later, London and
Hertfordshire. Shortly after her 2003 release, "Sparking",
(Second Thought Records) which
received much critical acclaim, Laura began her BSc Honours degree in
Music Composition & Technology.
During this busy time, Laura took a break from producing albums and
focussed on her music in the academic setting. She continued to perform
live, both solo and with her band, and set up her own independent label,
Zwold Records in 2004.
Laura has shared a bill with Amy Winehouse, Easyworld, Super Furry
Animals, David Wyatt, Katie Skilling (Summer Sundae Festival, 2004),
Biffy Clyro, Kosheen and The Editors (Middlesex University Summer Ball,
2005). She also appeared at Radio 1's One Big Sunday festival in
Leicester, 2003.
Laura went on hiatus in 2007, moving back to her native
Midlands, where she is currently recording tracks for the
long-overdue "Sixes & Sevens". She hopes to return to the live
music scene later in 2010.
