Frequently Asked Questions
- Classes
How does payment work?
Payment may differ, depending on the class. Payment for
classes run by Laura herself usually run in blocks of terms and
half-terms. If it is your first class, you are welcome
to try for a one-off price before you decide if you want to
commit to the classes or not.
Do I need to bring a hoop?
All hoops are provided. However, if you have your own
adult hoop, you are welcome to bring it along!
What else should I bring to
a class?
WATER, and preferably a friend!
What should I wear?
Yoga/fitness clothes are appropriate for hooping -
something light which you can move in. A t-shirt or vest
top is a good idea, as it is likely you will get a bit warm!
Do I have
to be female to join the class?
No! Unless otherwise stated, classes are open to both
men & women. Some of the most respected hoop teachers
and performers are men (Baxter from Hoop Path, Rich from
Isopop, Khan Wong, Lucian).
Can I join the class if I'm
pregnant?
Unfortunately not, but you are welcome to join us when
you have given birth and had your post natal check. The
fitness industry in the UK acknowledges that the change
in a pregnant woman's anatomy and physiology affects the
joints in the body, particularly the pelvis, which
become more relaxed and prone to instability. The action
of hooping may increase this instability and cause
serious problems in the pelvis and back, which is why it
is not recommended for women in any stage of pregnancy.
Laura has completed her Level 3 CYQ Ante & Post Natal
exercise certificate, so feel free to get in touch with
your questions about post-natal hooping.
